Predators not Pets: A Community Spotlight

  • Time: 5-7pm
  • Date: Wednesday, January 15, 2020

What do Lions, Tigers, and Leopards all have in common? They are all big cats that deserve to remain in the wild, but sadly due to the exotic pet trade, they become pets. There are more Tigers in backyards in the United States than left in the wild today. Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge has been rescuing abandoned, abused, and neglected big cats/bears for 27 years. Join our Wildlife Interpreter during our community spotlight as we discover more about the exotic pet trade and how you can help protect the future of big cats.

We'll be looking at teeth replicas, animal toys that have been bitten and used, making toys for cats back at Turpentine Creek, and feeling real fur from different animals. This special community spotlight will be during Priceless Night, on Wednesday, January 15 from 5-7pm.
