The NWA STEAM Institute is a two-day immersive professional development event for educators interested in integrating STEAM in their educational settings. The Wonder Lab at Shaw Elementary will host and facilitate activities they use with their students. The Amazeum team, NWAESC’s STEM Specialist, and Chloe Burgett, a children’s book and digital illustrator, will collaborate with the Wonder Lab to highlight science and literacy integration with STEAM for all learners.

  • Explore the Wonder Lab’s approach to STEAM integration through standards-aligned, hands-on experiences designed to give practical and pedagogical insights.
  • Roundtable discussions focused on accessible STEAM integration with literacy and science.
  • Unique collaborative learning sessions with peers, Amazeum team, Shaw educators, NWAESC’s STEM Specialist, and children’s book and digital illustrator, Chloe Burgett.
  • Take home materials and resources
  • 12 hours of ADE credit
  • Additional support for schools that are interested in applying for AR Model STEM designation
  • Light breakfast, lunch and snacks provided each day

Financial aid available upon request. Recommended for 2 or more participants from the same institution to attend together. Advance registration and payment are required.
