Zing in the New Year
Zing in the New Year
10 am - 3 pm

Families will be able to welcome 2016 with activities for all ages on December 31, 2015 at the Scott Family Amazeum. The festive day will be capped with an indoor balloon release at 3 pm. The balloons will contain the wishes of guests.

The Amazeum will open at 10 am on December 31. The museum will close at 3 pm.

Activities throughout the day include:

  • Capture the Moment  —  Since you’re all here and having a great time, stop by the photo station to capture the moment. Take a photo with or without some wacky props and share with friends and family.
  • Make Some Noise — Rattlers, buzzers, and straw oboes will create a fun cacophony.  Stop by these activity stations throughout the day to build your own noisemakers. Then, bring them to the countdown and Zing in the New Year with some fanfare.
  • Light up the Party — Stop by the Tinkering Hub to light up your party favors with LEDs and switches. Then add a little bit of flair to make it your own creation.  (Ages 7 years and up)
  • Fancy Hats — Come to the Art Studio and create a crazy curly cap. Show your creative side and turn your party hat into a work of art.
  • Wishing Balloons — What do you hope for in the coming year? Make your wish and place it in a balloon. Then come to the countdown at 3 pm and help everyone release wishes into the air as we welcome 2016.

The day will culminate with the New Year’s Countdown shortly before 3 pm. Guests will be able to bring the party gear and noisemakers you make in the museum.  We’ll be counting down and releasing hundreds of balloons filled with our wishes for the New Year. We’ll send off 2015 with joy and fanfare following the countdown when our Play Facilitators will lead everyone in a parade around the galleries one last time.

The Scott Family Amazeum will be open from 10 am until 3 pm on December 31, 2015. We will be closed on January 1, 2016.
