August 31, 2023

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Bentonville, Arkansas – The Scott Family Amazeum is pleased to announce a combined $2M investment from Walmart and the Walmart Foundation. This investment includes a $500,000 grant from Walmart to refresh the current look and feel of the Market exhibit to better reflect the current branding, initiatives, and store experience of Walmart/Sam’s Club. A grant of $1.5 million from the Walmart Foundation will provide a welcoming exterior area that is an inclusive space for people to gather, socialize, and connect with one another.

By creating a physical space that encourages face-to-face interaction, the expanded outdoor space at the Amazeum will help foster a sense of community and belonging among its visitors. Additionally, by offering flexible rooms for a wide range of events, future expanded common spaces will help to bring people together for shared experiences and celebrations. This could include everything from birthday parties to community events, robotics competitions, and corporate team-building activities. Existing beyond the paywall of the museum, the outside space and exterior gathering area will be a place where families and the community can connect.

“We are fortunate that the Scott Family Amazeum provides such an enriching space for families to build stronger connections in our home region,” said Julie Gehrki, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Walmart Foundation. “We are excited about the outdoor gathering space, which will offer a creative, inspiring place for residents to deepen connections, and about refreshing the popular Market exhibit to show kids how fun retail can be. We are honored to support the Amazeum’s mission to make a positive impact on families in our community.”
