FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Celebrating Seven Years of Play and Learning in Northwest Arkansas

The Scott Family Amazeum to host birthday activities

Bentonville, Ark – Wednesday, June 29, 2022 The Scott Family Amazeum is celebrating their 7th birthday on Friday, July 15th with pop-up activities, giveaways, and family fun all day long.

Themed after the traditional seventh anniversary gift of wool, guests can experience a variety of pop-up activities like felting, finger knitting, and painting with yarn. For extra wooly fun, the Amazeum will host the Barn Yard Buddies Petting Zoo from 9am-1:30pm, and demonstrations from the NWA Weavers Guild from 1pm-4:30pm. Birthday activities are included with general admission to the museum.

In the seven years since opening on July 15, 2015, the Amazeum has welcomed over 1.5 million guests of all ages to experience hands-on science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) activities, special exhibits and events. Nearly 5,000 individual and family members are part of the Amazeum community. Thousands of students explore the Amazeum during Unfield Trips each school year and hundreds of children make an Amazeum camp part of their school breaks.

Amazeum accessibility programs provide free admission for one out of every five guests and hold down the true cost of admission for the more than 225,000 people who visit the museum each year. Over 20,000 families attended the museum during Priceless Nights at no cost to themselves on most Wednesdays from 4:30 to 7:30 pm. Donations to the museum support these accessibility initiatives.

Part children’s museum, part science center, and part maker space, the Amazeum provides experiences designed for adults as well as children and families. Throughout the year, adults are invited to give their inner child a night out during Adult Nights. Each spring, the Amazeum’s UnGala FUNdraiser supports continued access to high-quality, STEAM-learning experiences for families in Northwest Arkansas and beyond.
