Wish? Did somebody say wish? Wish there was a fun, family event during the day to celebrate New Year's Eve? We've got you covered at the Amazeum with Zing in the New Year! Join us during the day to help celebrate the beginning of 2019 from 10 am to 3 pm. Make a wish for the New Year, then send it to the ceiling during our day-ending, wish-filled helium balloon (ahem) drop. Zing in the New Year activities are included in paid daily admission and membership.

Join us on Tuesday, January 8 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm and find out about making, tinkering, and other interactive educational activities for classrooms from maker educators and the Amazeum team at Maker Educator Meet Up. Whether a seasoned maker educator or a fresh recruit, you'll learn something and meet some really awesome people making education great for students across Northwest Arkansas.  Complimentary admission. Are you ready to embark on an invention journey?  As creative engineers, you will explore how things work and why sometimes they don't. Gear up to take things apart, reuse the pieces, and create your own invention as you earn the basic skills and processes needed to be a successful maker, inventor, and tinkerer.  Once you've completed the workshop the only thing left is to buy the Gadgets and Gizmos loop from your council store!

Homeschool Days are the perfect addition to any homeschool curriculum! There are two ways to attend Homeschool Day: by booking your very own Unfield Trip visit to the Amazeum, or by exploring on your own. Only homeschoolers will be able to reserve Unfield Trips on Homeschool Days, so this is another great way to have fun and meet other homeschool families and students! Mix and mingle with fellow educators and receive AR Department of Education credit at our Educator Night Out events!  Educator Night Out features opportunities for educators to explore the Amazeum, connect with colleagues, and discover incredible ways to use the Amazeum in your classroom. Local educators will partner with the Amazeum team to lead sessions on how connecting the Amazeum with your classroom lights a passion for STEAM in students. An evening at the Amazeum wouldn’t be complete without time to be a big kid, so come ready to play in the exhibit hall. 

School teachers, administrative staff, and homeschool educators are all welcome to attend this free event. You don’t want to miss this incredible night out filled with practical ideas, giveaways, and delicious food and drink! Based upon popular demand, we are hosting two Educator Night Out events. New sessions will be explored during each Educator Night Out so plan to attend both events!

Be the next robot designer! Juniors become engineers ask they learn how robots work.  Juniors will design a bristlebot or solar bug and test their creations. Once you've completed the workshop, the only thing left is to buy the Designing Robots badge from your council store!

Each 2 hour session will include inquiry, hands-on tinkering, and time to reflect using NGSS Science & Engineering practices and the Amazeum’s Core Values of Tinkering. The Scott Family Amazeum is a hands-on, interactive museum for children and families located in Bentonville, Ark. A museum with a foundation in the arts and sciences, the Amazeum encourages creativity, curiosity and community through exhibits, educational collaboration, and programs, workshops and camps. Amazeum experiences include a climbable tree canopy, indoor cave, tinkering hub, nearly one acre of outdoor space, and ever-evolving daily pop-up activities.
