For nearly a decade, the smell of chocolate and the spark of curiosity have filled the air inside the Hershey’s Lab at the Scott Family Amazeum. From mixing and melting to testing and tasting, families have discovered the science behind sweetness in ways only the Amazeum could imagine.

Now after ten incredible years of candy coated creativity, the Hershey’s Lab is preparing for an exciting transformation. The current lab experience will wrap up on December 31, 2025, making way for a fresh, hands-on experience designed to inspire the next generation of makers and explorers in early 2026.

A Decade of Chocolate Inspired Discovery

Since opening in 2015 the Hershey’s Lab has welcomed thousands of curious minds to explore the delicious intersection of science, engineering, and imagination. Each week brings a new experiment, whether testing the speed of chocolate bars, discovering how density affects floating candy, or diving into the sensory world of taste and texture.

As the only destination beyond Hershey, Pennsylvania, where guests can enjoy a Hershey adventure, the Amazeum infuses Hershey’s spirit of fun and imagination into interactive experiences that inspire learning through play. Over the years, the teams have exchanged recipes, ideas, and experiments, blending Hershey’s signature sweetness with the Amazeum’s spirit of creativity and play.

At the Hershey’s Lab, chocolate transformed into a tool for creativity and curiosity. It encouraged families to mix, build, and explore while learning that science can be every bit as delightful as candy.

What’s Happening in the Final Weeks

There’s still time to savor the fun! During the final two months of the year, guests can experience some of the lab’s all time favorite experiments including Float Trip, Candy Chemistry, Ancient Drinking Chocolate, and Sweet Speedway, each one a unique opportunity to play, learn, and maybe sneak a taste of science in action.

Daily sessions are offered at 9:45, 10:30, 11:15, 12:00, 12:45, 1:30, 2:15, 3:00, and 3:45. Complimentary tickets are available at Admissions in the lobby on a first come, first served basis. Space is limited, so plan to grab your spot early.

Looking Ahead to 2026

While we’re celebrating everything the Hershey’s Lab has meant to our community, we’re also looking ahead with excitement. The Amazeum’s exhibit team is already dreaming up the next evolution of this space, a new environment where innovation, experimentation, and play will continue to take center stage.

“Our guests have built incredible memories in the Hershey’s Lab,” said Sam Dean, CEO of the Scott Family Amazeum. “We’re proud of how it’s inspired curiosity for ten years, and we can’t wait to share what’s next.”

Thank You for 10 Delicious Years

The Amazeum is deeply grateful to The Hershey Company for its long-time partnership and support in sparking curiosity through chocolate-inspired learning. Together, we’ve created countless moments of joy, discovery, and hands-on fun for families throughout the region. As we look ahead, we’re excited to continue working together on new and imaginative ways to inspire curiosity and play for families across Northwest Arkansas and beyond.
