Expand your definition of pop art and have some messy fun creating your own masterpiece. 

Esmeralda Aldaco bursts onto the scene with this activity that pops with color. Let your creativity explode as you explore color.

  • non-toxic, washable paint
  • hand or dish soap
  • tray or cookie sheet
  • table covering

Discovery Starters

How is painting on bubble wrap different than painting on paper or canvas? 

What do you notice about the texture of your painting?

Do the colors mix easily on the bubble wrap? 

Try different materials for "brushes" what happens?

Explore Further

Paint a picture on the bubble wrap, then take a piece of paper and lay in on the top of your picture. When you remove the paper what do you see?

Try using different sizes of bubble wrap and see what happens.
