Scott Family Amazeum, Hershey's Celebrating National Smores Day

BENTONVILLE, Ark. (Aug. 10, 2016) — Adding to the amazing fun for families at the Scott Family Amazeum, the Hershey's Smores Pit will be unveiled during a National S’mores Day Celebration Made Happier by Hershey's on Wed., Aug. 10.

“The Amazeum is about family engagement and togetherness, so we’re looking forward to celebrating families in a fun way,” said Sam Dean, executive director. The Hersheys Smores Pit will be a great way to add more happiness to special outings and events here at the Amazeum.”

The Hershey's Smores Pit is located on the south side of the Amazeum's Outdoor Playscape. It will be lit and opened for special occasions throughout the year.

“There is something magical and happy about making smores,” said Jon Davis, Hershey Walmart Team Lead. “The family engagement that happens here at the Amazeum is special and Hershey's is excited to be a part of enhancing that experience.”

The Amazeum is home to Hershey's Lab, where guests can utilize Hershey's confections to test scientific principles. To date, more than 35,000 guests have participated in Hershey’s Lab experiences.

A brief ceremony, hosted by KNWA's Dan Skoff, will begin shortly before 6 pm. The Hershey's Smores Pit will be lit and guests will be invited to make a smore and enjoy some treats on the lawn during Wednesday's Priceless Night.

Priceless Nights are held most Wednesdays from 4-7:30 pm. During this time, guests may make a donation in lieu of admission. Priceless Nights are made possible by a gift from Tyson Foods.
