#Amazeumroadtrip

March 9, 2016

If you’re traveling this Spring Break, be sure to pack your Scott Family Amazeum membership card and receive complimentary or reduced admission at hundreds of museums. The Association of Science-Technology Center (ASTC) Travel Passport programs includes 350 participating museums offering complimentary admission. Be sure to look up museums along your travel route, just use the handy “search by state” feature. This program applies to all of our memberships.

If your membership is a Family Premier or higher (you’ll see the round red ACM logo on the back of your card), you also have access to the Association of Children’s Museum reciprocal program of 200 museums across the country at a reduced admission.

Let me act as your travel guide and map out some road trips members have already taken.

Headed to Kansas City? The Stockton family’s favorite out of town museum is Science City, located in the historic Union Station in downtown Kansas City. Take pictures if you ride the bicycle across the tight rope and try not to scream.  Union Station also is currently hosting Pompeii: The Exhibition and check out the HUGE (no cost) display of model train sets.

Digging for Diamonds in Murfreesboro?  Plan time for Mid America Science Museum in Hot Springs or Museum of Discovery in Little Rock.

Going to Dallas? Include a trip to Perot Museum of Nature and Science. While Perot offers the option of purchasing tickets online ahead of a visit, you cannot reserve advance tickets if you are using the reciprocal benefit.

We want to know where you go! Snap a picture with your Scott Family Amazeum membership card during your visit to a partner museum and post it on our Facebook or Instagram (theamazeum) tagged with #amazeumroadtrip.  Do this between March 18 and March 31 for an opportunity to receive a complimentary membership renewal!

Don’t have your card? Contact us soon so we can ensure you have one before you leave. You can also request a replacement card on your next visit. You will need your card to visit reciprocal museums. And be sure to carefully read the ASTC and/or ACM lists for any restrictions on reciprocal benefits, such as a limit on number of admissions. We can’t wait to see where your Amazeum membership will take you.

Happy Spring Break!
